eBay Found this in my “archives” - famous San Francisco Chronicle columnist Herb Caen gave this to me in the 1980s when we spent a lot of time together… and it is really quite amazing!This 14k gold lighter inscribed HERB was given to him by none other than ol’ blue eyes himself - Frank Sinatra. Herb wrote about the lighter and his relationship with Frank in the accompanying article and it really is a blast! Frank and Herb were very close for quite a while - Frank referred to Herb as his “Northern Leader” of the famous Rat Pack. In its original box accompanied by the article. ORIGINAL Frank Sinatra Tallboy Lighter Throughout his career, Frank Sinatra gave lighters with his signature embossed or printed to friends and family. So this is a rare coveted collectible when it comes to Frank Sinatra memorabilia. They come in different shapes and sizes and the style varied throughout his career. This one measures 2 ¼” tall and approximately 7/8” wide and was given out in the 1960s and 1970s. The condition is VG+ and you can see some tarnishing toward the bottom of the lighter. Does not impact the engraved signature and overall eye appeal of this collectible items. I have owned several of these over the years and these do not come to market often! Shows some signs of very light use, but please see scans and photos for overall condition. On the bottom of the lighter, you can see it was manufactured by Barlow in Japan and includes markings “B19” and “Tallboy.” Any questions please let me know.
